It’s been 16 years since Twitter launched. After a hectic few weeks since Elon took over, many are concerned about the platform’s future.
I sat down for a chat with Aleisha Orr from SBS News to talk all about the history of Twitter, why the platform is so important, and what the future looks like for one of the world’s largest social media platforms.
I’ve been very vocal about my love for Twitter, never shying away from calling it my favourite social media platform. For years, Twitter has been a powerful networking tool, news source, and more iconic memes than I can remember.
We all remember covfefe, right? Well, in case you missed it, Elon Musk took to Twitter to conduct a poll asking whether or not Donald Trump’s account should be reinstated.
Yes, it’s been a wild few weeks at Twitter HQ, with mass layoffs, ultimatums, $8/month blue ticks and more.
Do I think Twitter will collapse under the weight of Elon Musk’s ego? No. Sure, the platform may never be the same as it once was, but I can’t see it disappearing anytime soon.
