TikTok is no longer just for the kids. It looks like many brands on TikTok are taking to the platform and cashing in on its popularity.

While it was easy to dismiss TikTok as a flash in the pan, I’ve found that the onset of COVID-19 has seen the app explode all around the world, as more and more people are stuck at home isolating. And brands are definitely starting to take notice.

With many generations now active on TikTok, and the use of the app skyrocketing, brands on TikTok are finding interesting ways to capture the attention of their target audiences. And it’s not just big brands.

From voice coaches to small businesses, people are engaging with brands on TikTok like no other social media app before. And interestingly, I’ve learned that 18 to 29-year-olds are the largest demographic following brands on TikTok.

Some people are voicing concerns over the way TikTok collects personal information, and how brands on TikTok may use this data. But social media platforms collecting personal information is nothing new. I’m looking at you, Facebook.

For now, I think brands on TikTok look to be here to stay. It will be interesting to see if the influx of brands drives users away.

TikTok is definitely an exciting space that I’ll be keeping an eager eye on for my own businesses. And I think it’d be a great idea for your brand to do the same.
