Threads, the new text-based social media app from Instagram, is here, and it’s caused quite the stir online.

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, but that might not be the case when it comes to Mark Zuckerberg releasing Threads into the world.

The new text-based app is a straight Twitter clone. With Twitter floundering and haemorrhaging money under Elon Musk’s leadership, it’s no surprise that Threads hit the App Store a little earlier than we may have all expected.

The launch day turned out to be quite the busy day for me personally, making appearances on Sunrise, 7NEWS Brisbane, 7NEWS Melbourne, and 9News Perth—and I had plenty to say.
