Speaking Engagement: ATEC Meeting Place 2017

31 October 2017 5:00 am

When I heard the news that Perth had been chosen as the location for this year’s Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) Meeting Place event, I was incredibly excited by the prospect of such a huge and influential conference coming to town.

And that’s why I was thrilled when I was asked to take part in the conference.

ATEC is an annual event, and is one of the tourism industry’s leading international conferences for Australian tourism exporters. With over 400 export tourism leaders descending on Western Australia for the conference, Crown and the Hyatt Regency held what went on to be three days of interesting and informative discussions, panels, and presentations.

As for my role in ATEC, I was fortunate enough to take part in an exciting and thought-provoking panel discussion centred around the rise of influencers, influencer marketing, and a whole lot more.

There’s certainly plenty going on in the tourism space in Western Australia, and influencers are destined to play a huge role in growing the tourism industry here for years to come. Plus, with so much money being invested into the state and a brand new 60,000-seat stadium set to open to the public next year, it looks like Western Australia is in an incredibly strong position moving forward.

I even received the following kind words from Jennifer Bruce, the National Manager  Industry Development & Education, Australian Tourism Export Council, after the event:

Just a quick note to thank you very much for your huge contribution to our Meeting Place conference day by participating in our panel discussion regarding influencers last week. The feedback regarding our breakout sessions has been incredibly positive, starting valuable discourse amongst our members about how we can continuously improve as an industry. We now have many members trying to include this in their marketing strategy for next year! Your time and expertise is greatly appreciated.
