With 5.35 billion social media users globally and Australians spending over 6 hours a day online, it’s tough to grab attention. I made it clear: if your content isn’t working, it’s not them; it’s you. People aren’t disengaged; we’re just not tapping into what matters to them.

I spent a good chunk of my keynote presentation explaining the modern Consumer Decision Journey and emphasised that social media should be integrated into your brand strategy. Your approach should be shaped by listening to your audience and their needs. Whether you aim for brand awareness, lead generation, or engagement, integration is vital.

I stressed that showing up on social media effectively requires optimising before scaling. Not every platform fits every brand, so it’s essential to focus your efforts strategically. I also shared insights on hashtag strategy, urging everyone to get strategic and not just toss in hashtags at random.

My message was clear: stay on brand by maintaining a consistent voice, theme, and style. Align User-Generated Content (UGC) with your brand message to create impactful connections, and remember—it’s evolution, not revolution.
