Twitter Blue, Twitter’s new subscription service has just been launched, with the tech giant testing the service on Australian and Canadian users.

If you have been following my posts for any time now, you should know how much I love Twitter. Without question, it is my favourite social media platform going around. However, would I pay for it?

I was lucky enough to be asked to jump on BBC World News and have a chat about that very question.

When it comes to deciding whether or not to sign up for a paid service, like Twitter Blue, you have to ask yourself what the benefits would be to you, your business, and your career. For me personally, I used Twitter all the time, and I have gotten so much back from the platform, so I can’t wait to sign up.

While I use Twitter in my day-to-day and professional life, I also understand that the casual Twitter user may be hesitant to pay for something that’s been free for so long. That will be the real test for Twitter Blue, as the tech giant looks to increase and diversify its revenue stream.

What is Twitter Blue?

So, what is Twitter Blue, and why test it out in Australia? Well, Twitter Blue is a subscription service that will offer users access to premium features and perks, including Bookmark Folders, Undo Tweet, Reader Mode, and more.

Australia, as per usual, remains the perfect test subject for social media platforms. We are an English-speaking country, our population isn’t overwhelmingly massive, and we are usually pretty interested in the same things as the US and the UK.

Will you be hoping on the Twitter Blue bandwagon? Let me now in the comments down below. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
