Social Media Perth Founder Meg Coffey named finalist Business Woman of the Year

Managing Director of Coffey & Tea and Founder of Social Media Perth, Meg Coffey was last night recognised as a finalist for Business Woman of the Year in the 23rd Annual Belmont & Western Australian Small Business Awards at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre (PCEC).

While Ms Coffey did not take home the Award, she said it was welcome recognition of her hard work and how far she has come.

“Success doesn’t just “happen”, it is earned through hard work and calculated risk and passion. It is a fantastic feeling to have been recognised for all the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into growing Coffey & Tea and Social Media Perth.

“These Awards are a great opportunity to reflect upon what I have achieved and I am overwhelmed with pride in these two entities; what they represent and what they give back to the Perth business community.
“I look forward to continuing to do so long into the future,” she said.
Business Woman of the Year was sponsored by Business & Professional Women WA and BPW Business Incubator and presented by Kate Waters.
Special guests on the night included The Hon Michael McCormack MP, Minister for Small Business and Member for Riverina; and The Hon Sean L’Estrange, MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Small Business and Finance.

Other dignitaries included Western Australian Shadow Treasurer Ben Wyatt MLA; Member for East Metropolitan Region, Samantha Rowe MLC; Western Australian Senator Sue Lines; and Member for Belmont, Glenys Godfrey, MLA.

Consul Generals from Vietnam (Phung The Long), Sri Lanka (Rosh Jalagge) and Mongolia (Peter Stuart) will attend the over 350-strong event.
